James S. Parkes (1897 – 1985) was an American Republican Party politician, who served on the Red Bank, New Jersey Borough Council and as a member of the Monmouth County, New Jersey Board of Chosen Freeholders. ==Biography== Parkes unsuccessfully ran for Red Bank Borough Council in 1926.〔''Red Bank Register'', November 3, 1926〕 In 1929, he ran again and was elected.〔''Red Bank Register'', November 6, 1929〕 He was reelected in 1932. In 1935, Parkes was elected to the Board of Chosen Freeholders; he would serve five, three-year terms. Parkes was chosen as Director of the Board for the years 1948 through 1950.〔Minutes, Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders〕 The Grace and James S.
